Luxury, Flash, and Sair pulled off a very close win over eSTRO yesterday in day 2 of the Shinhan Bank Pro League 08-09 season with a 3-2 score, here is their interview done after the event:
Luxury: I worried a lot since it was my first game after transferring to KTF. I was under a great deal of pressure to win, fortunately I did.
Sair: It was a difficult win, I feel good about having a good start by winning.
Flash: Losing the 2nd set game was tough, but I was able to come out on top in the `closer` game by a small margin, nonetheless I am happy about the win and I think it’s safe to have high expectations this season.
You had a tough fight against By.Puma
Luxury: By.Puma is a good player and on top of that the map was hard to play on. I asked other teams thoughts and they all told me `why did you play on that map?` My zerglings were strangely weak, I realized later that I didn’t upgrade the adrenaline. I found out once the game was over.
You fell below expectations in the past
Sair: I feel like I saved the team from a crisis. I have gained much confidence from the win today.
You didn’t get any damage from the mutalisk harassment
Sair: When the mutalisks arrived, my marines had +1 attack upgrade and also range, so I wasn’t intimidated by the mutalisks. The game progressed as I had expected just like during practice.
In the 2nd set you had the advantage when you positioned yourself in the middle of the map
Flash: During practice I only faced arbiters. I’ve played over a few hundred games and yet never faced carriers. When I scanned the main base I saw one stargate and made the mistake of thinking it was a templar archive next to the citadel of adun. Never in my wildest dream did I think it was carriers. Soon after, receiving attacks without scans drove me crazy.
You came out on the 1st set after the transfer, were you under much pressure?
Luxury: Yes, the pressure was big but very doable due to much practice so I didn’t worry that much.
When did you feel that you were going to win?
Luxury: Not till the very end. I had the disadvantage throughout the game but the gap wasn’t big enough for me to type in GG, and considering the opponent being a relatively a newbie player, it reinforced the idea that I could win. Capturing the science vessels was a big factor in winning.
Are you adjusting well in the team after the transfer?
Luxury: I adjusted very quickly, it took me about 3 days. FireFist and Flash helped out a lot. I see a small difference in gamer’s behaviors, but for the most part it’s very similar to the Sparkyz team environment.
You won swiftly with strong bionics
Sair: I scanned and saw the weak defense line so I decided to roam right through. Overall it was a very clean cut game so I’m satisfied. Out of 100 points I think I deserve 100 points.
When did you realize the fast carriers tech?
Flash: I didn’t locate the stargate, but on my first scan I saw one multi with only 2 gates, so naturally I predicted that it’d be carriers and quickly changed to a stand off mode. Victory was inevitable once a certain time passed.
You made many turrets to defend against carriers
Flash: I’ve been under many attacks from carriers, it’s my game style.
Were you traumatized by the carriers on the 2nd set?
Flash: I quickly forgot about the previous game and focused on the task at hand. Once I passed the carriers attack time I knew I’d win.
This season’s goals
Luxury: Compared to last season the maps are much more doable this time around. My immediate goals are to win all the games I’m sent out on. We will make it to the playoffs no matter what.
Sair: The team’s Pro League victory is the main priority, and my goal is to help the cause. My personal goals are to win all the games I play.
Flash: First of all the team’s goal is the Pro League victory. I personally would like to have 40~50 wins. If I accomplish this and also with our senior gamers doing well we should have no problems on making it to the playoffs.
Any additional words you’d like to say?
Luxury: I want to thank the team’s Terran users for practicing hard with me. Also this was my very first game after the transfer and so many KTF fans showed up, I want to thank them. I hope they continue to come.
Sair: Today the opponent was Hyvaa, the rookie of the year last year. We also have a rookie of the year on our team, `815`. He told me that I would win if I practice with him and helped me a great deal in my game. All the Zerg members on the team helped. I want to thank them all.
Flash: Out of all the Protoss users I want to say thanks to its Violet, also Stork, JangBi, Choi Yue Sun, and MBC Game’s JaeHoon.
