Monthly Pro Gamer: Jaedong - The Future
-Published 10/19/2008 11:48:00 PM
Jaedong - Lee Jae Dong (이제동)

Born - 1990-01-09

Race - Zerg

April 2006 opened the door to a new Zerg player by the name of Jaedong, he went 6-4 in his first 10 games which is pretty good for a rookie, losing to Tester, Eliza, Free, and Casy, but beating top players at the time such as Nada, Reach, and GoRush. Taking the world by storm is something only a few people are able to do in this lifetime; this is the story of one of those people...

2007 was a great year for Jaedong as he placed 2nd in a major event and later that year he won the Ever OSL event where he defeated great players such as DarkElf, Nada, Light, UpMagic, and Stork. This big win solidified him as the very best Zerg player and overall best player at the time, and he continues to this day to keep such a name for himself.
January 2008 brought the next league, named the GomTV MSL S4. This was probably the easiest title for Jaedong to capture so far as he ripped through players left and right without even catching a sweat. Players such as Bisu, July, Luxury, Flash, Mind, and Kal fell victim to the swarm that Jaedong brought upon them. He easily won the final match with a 3-1 score over Kal on Zodiac, Katrina, Loki 2, and Blue Storm.

His latest gold title came on August 17th, 2008. He met up against Stork in the WCG Korea 2008 national finals where he easily defeated the champion Protoss. Some other people he beat along the way were Luxury, Best, and Free. As you can tell by his ZvP record, he is one of the best Zerg vs. Protoss players in the world.
One of the most important wins in Jaedongs history of Starcraft has had to of been the 2007 Shinhan Bank Pro League finals where Lecaf Oz took on Samsung Khan. Many people at the time thought that Khan was the favorite to win, boy were they wrong. Lecaf basically tore Khan a new one by beating them with a 4-1 score.

The results looked like this:

Frozean (T) > Jaedong (Z) on UnGoro Crater
JangBi (P) < ForGG (T) on Nemesis
JiHyun/CuteBoy (Z/T) < Lomo/Shinhwa (T/Z) on Hwangsanbul
Stork (P) < Anytime (P) on Katrina
FireBatHero (T) < Hiya (T) on Python

Samsung Khan < Lecaf Oz 1-4

Knowing how hard Lee Jae Dong loves to train, his commitment to excellence, and how much passion he has for the game, I see him being one of the best, if not the best Zerg players of our time and he will go down as one of the top 3 players in history, next to Lim Yo Hwan and Kim Dong Soo.
Fair play

If you don't like Jaedong so much, feel free to write up an article of who you think is this months (October) Monthly Pro Gamer, and I will post it as Milly's Monthly Pro Gamer on the front page.

You can send it to iegstaff@scforall.com when you're done.
