You won the first game of Round 16
- I thought that if I win the first game it’d be an easy ride, feeling very good about the win at the moment. I will practice very hard for the upcoming games.
Your build seemed like you knew the opponent’s play
- I wanted to be as safe as I can be in the beginning. I am very confident in my late game, when I saw the opponent’s base with my corsair I knew immediately what he was up to.
You utilized dark templars
- If the opponent does a two hatchery fast mutalisk, they’re more susceptible to dark templar attacks. Though corsair, zealots, archon, and a dark templar would be a good combo.
What has changed in the team atmosphere?
- We’ve always practiced very hard, but more so now, we are playing under the name `woongjin stars`. For sure our team spirit is much better than last year. I think being able to eat well has a lot to do with that.
Have you seen the top 16 maps?
- I haven’t practiced very much on them, but through the Pro League practice I’ve familiarized myself with the maps, so I don’t think I will lose.
Were you nervous about playing against Lee Jae Dong, he was on a winning streak?
- Lately the games I’ve played with him, my skills didn’t even have time to fully come out. So when I came today I just wanted to be able to do a macro game without losing so early on in the game. I wanted to have a late game with him and have a straight fight. I don’t think about opponents being strong, but rather think about my play.
Your team doesn’t have a great record right now
- We practice very hard, but every other team does too. Hard practice won’t pay off right away; it’s going to take time. We need to have more players like Zero, and Guemchi to support the team. Once we do, we’re going to have an even fight with other teams.
Any special words?
- I don’t think Lee Jae Dong was able to practice very hard today because of yesterday’s Pro League match. I hope next time he will have more time to practice to have more of a fair fight with me. Our team is practicing very hard and will try even harder as the season progresses. I will do better to have a good Pro League record.
