The following is an interview done on Free from the Woongjin Stars after winning set 4 and 5 vs. eSTRO earlier today
It’s the team’s very first win, how do you feel?
- We lost so easily. People in high places from Woongjin came to root for us and we felt very bad if we were to disappoint them. I wanted to play a big part in today’s game and it happened that way so I am ecstatic right now.
What has improved since you’ve started playing for a new company?
- We still live at the same place, but food and other things got way better.
Front office people come to all our games and cheer for us. There is more pressure now but it also gives us more motivation so it’s good.
In the 4th set game you were in trouble
- It wasn’t supposed to happen like that, I was anticipating on an all in drop play so I became timid. I was not mentally confident throughout it, so it turned out to be a tough game.
You succeeded with your one big rush
- I searched and realized Zerg didn’t have too many expansions so I thought with a good strong push I could take the game.
Did you predict Magma in the closer game?
- It didn’t matter who came out I knew I’d win. I had that confidence in myself. I didn’t practice too much on that map since I know it very well and also winning the 4th set immensely built up my confidence.
You stated that your goal is to have 25 wins
- A minimum of 25 games. I feel like I need 25 wins for my team to do well. I don’t want to focus on that too much, but I would like to compete for the `player with most wins`. I think I have the advantage running for that race.
Do you think playing under a new team name is going to help your team to win games?
- We’ve only played two games so far so it’s hard to predict. I regret that we don’t have 2 wins, but it’s still ok. We have to play against Samsung Khan and Lecaf Oz next, they are strong teams so if we beat them I could tell you better.
Any last words?
- We could’ve had two losses. For me I lost so easily last game that today’s win makes me feel very good. I think fans will too. I would like to mark today as the starting point and hopefully we will be able to show you great games.
